Most telecom cabinets are dynamic – the equipment in there gets changed on a fairly regular basis. Very dificult to keep things neat. A nightmare if you need to move a cable from one port on one piect of gear to another port somewhere else.
Besides, it may look cool, but it doesn’t work any better.
