None of these Ironworkers are working under a crane. These are American 35 Ton guyed derricks. This was before my time but I did work under the guy derricks on story jobs in the late 60′ and early 70’s. I connected for John F. Beasley Const. Co. and working under derricks was the most rewarding ironwork I ever did. The coordination between architects, fabricators, erectors was the best I ever saw.

Been there, done that for 35 years, now retired. I can guarantee #13 is indeed a column, but you have to remember that most of the folks who are impressed by these pictures, can only comment on what they “think” is going on, as most don’t have a clue
